George Hagen is a multi-media storyteller. He has published adult and children's novels, cartoons, built giant street puppets, and wrote and directed a short film currently included in the Brooklyn Museum's 200th Anniversary group show: Brooklyn Artists Exhibition. His first novel, THE LAMENTS, is a semi-autobiographical comic novel about his family's travels from Africa to England to the United States. His second novel is TOM BEDLAM. His children's novels are GABRIEL FINLEY & THE RAVEN'S RIDDLE and GABRIEL FINLEY & THE LORD OF AIR AND DARKNESS. He graduated from New York University, began his career as a screenwriter in New York and Los Angeles. More recently he has performed with large street puppets in a variety of parades and demonstrations in New York City and created a short film with shadow puppets titled JUPITER WASHINGTON-CARPENTER. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Terri Seligman.
